“Insulin was but a means to an end,” wrote Frederick Banting. Grant Maltman, curator of Banting House in London, Ontario, will highlight insulin’s centenary, and also show that there was far more than this Nobel Prize winning discovery in Banting’s life and career: his service in both World Wars, his use of art as an escape, and his role as a catalyst for Canada’s military and medical research programmes.
