Hastings County Historical Society Presents, “Indigenous History: Reading Between and Beyond the Lines” with Bill Fox
Archaeologist Bill Fox presents a traditional chronological review of archaeological evidence for the millennia of Indigenous occupation across the landscape of what is now known as Hastings County.
He follows this with a reconsideration of archaeological and historical documentation concerning Indigenous-European relations during the seventeenth century.
With an M.A. in Archaeology from U of T, Bill Fox was an archaeologist with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Parks Canada, then was a manager with the Trent-Severn Waterway. Since retirement, he’s an adjunct professor at Trent University’s Anthropology Graduate Program.
