Good news from Wesleyville Heritage Village!

We’re now working with the United Church of Canada on a lease with the Friends of Wesleyville Village for community use of the Church for at least another 50 years.
When approved this new lease would secure community investment in the restoration and upgrade of the Church building required after the 2021 fire.

The recovery work is estimated at between $400,000 and $500,000. The community, including the Municipality of Port Hope, has already contributed over $150,000 towards this project. We’re planning to start repairing the stained glass windows and the entrance doors this fall and have applied for an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant to meet accessibility needs, building and fire code requirements.
