Our guest speaker will be Ian Kerr-Wilson the former Manager of Heritage Resources Management at the City of Hamilton. Ian coordinated the Hamilton and Scourge Historic Site for two decades. On Thursday Nov. 10th he will talk to us about another of his varied interests. Currently he is the president of the Beach Canal Lighthouse Group, a group of individuals interested in preserving the Burlington Canal lighthouse. Located under the skyway bridges in Hamilton. See links Historic Hamilton beach strip lighthouse to be restored — and relocated | TheSpec.com You might also wish to google “Ian Kerr-Wilson”.

The beach canal lighthouse was built by John Brown who built the Port Maitland Lock and the Mohawk Island Lighthouse. John Brown also constructed the Imperial Lighthouses on Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.

Ian will present a PowerPoint presentation demonstrating various aspects of his marine interest. Hopefully he will tell us a bit about John Brown.

Following Ian’s talk there will be a short Annual General Meeting and the election of a slate of officers who will serve you for the next two years ending Sept. 30, 2024.
