The Coach House is located next door to the Oakville Historical Society office. The address is 114 King Street. Entrance is through the park side sliding doors.

What: Professor Mark Rector will be talking about Canadian inventions

From a life-long passion for Canadian inventors and technology, Professor Mark Rector’s presentation is chock full of inventors’ stories, firsts, and innovations that happened here in our “Home and Inventive Land.”

From the compound steam engine and gasoline of the Industrial Revolution to the lightbulb and the telephone of the Victorian era to the Canadarm and Blackberry of today; we invented them all!!!

From the tragedy of the Avro Arrow to the triumph of millions saved by the pacemaker. The stories of Bell Canada, the Robertson screw, SPAR Aerospace, Northern Telecom and Easy-Off! All of the Canadian ingenuity and innovation crammed into one light, breezy presentation.

He will also be selling copies of his book for $30 (two copies for $50) cash only please, tax included.
