In recognition of Indigenous Peoples Day and the first day of what the Anishinaabe call niibin (summer), local author and knowledge keeper Rick Revelle will be joining us for a special Tuesday Night at the Museum. Rick will be sharing local Indigenous history and readings from his four novels and will also have furs and artifacts on site for visitors to view.
Rick Revelle was born in Smith Falls, Ontario, and raised in the Odessa and Wilton areas. He is part of the Loyalist Township Sports Hall of Fame for softball and holds a black belt in Judo. He is a member of the Ardoch Algonquin First Nation and lives in Napanee, Ontario. Rick is the author of four novels taking place during the 1300’s, following an Algonquin family and their fight to survive in the pre-contact era. The books are I am Algonquin (2013), Algonquin Spring (2015), Algonquin Sunset (2017) and Algonquin Legacy (2021).
