British Home Children

John Jefkins is a descendant of a British Home Child, Albert Jefkins. Through the help of the British Home Child & Advocacy Association, John found his father’s family and travelled to England to meet them. This was published in the Toronto Star appropriately in their Fathers Day edition. John shares this story, the history of the British Home Child movement.

John is married to his wife, Marisa, has two grown children both married and resides in Etobicoke and is a senior executive in the electrical industry.

Our meetings are open to the public, in January, March, May, July, September and November.

Annual membership is $20 per person, or $30 per family. We suggest a donation at each meeting to help provide an honorarium for our speaker.

Meetings begin at 7 p.m. at Lorne Park Library, 1474 Truscott Drive, Mississauga.
