Craigleith Heritage Depot – Blue Clay on the Big Screen

July 27, 2023 @ 7:00 pm
$5

The Craigleith Heritage Depot and Mountain Goat Film Company have released a full-length documentary on Blue Mountain Pottery titled “Blue Clay”. The latest local history film from our REEL History series, and international winner of the 2023 Telly Awards.

Explore the unique shapes, colours, places and faces of Blue Mountain Pottery. Made from the clay of the Blue Mountains, the pottery began in 1953 with the hands of skilled immigrant craftsmen on the shores of Georgian Bay. Discover the legends of BMP, how it saved the Blue Mountain ski resort, and through its remarkable journey still lives on today!

“Blue Clay” is always available for viewing on the Blue Mountains Public Library YouTube channel. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/Fw1M1ruFky8

The Museum will be holding a fundraising event “Blue Clay on the Big Screen” on Thursday July 27th at 7pm, in the Gallery at the L.E. Shore Memorial Library, in Thornbury.

Popcorn, bar, and prizes to be won, followed by a Q & A with the filmmakers. Admission is a $5 donation to go towards creating more local history films and projects.
