Blue Mountain Pottery Expo

July 23 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

A celebration of this iconic Canadian pottery, born from the clay on the Blue Mountain.

This weekend event brings together experts, collectors, filmmakers, designers, pottery employees, antique dealers, museums, curators, craftspeople and you to discover the charm, history and importance of Blue Mountain Pottery.

This pottery was established in the early 1950’s by Jozo Weider, as part of his business portfolio at Blue Mountain. The pottery was a huge success, providing the economic foundation for the Blue Mountain Ski Resort and becoming well-known around the world. Jozo sold the pottery in the late 1960’s and it has continued to grow.

The Craigleith Heritage Depot presents this event with its partners, The Town of The Blue Mountains, The Blue Mountain Pottery Collector’s Club, the Thornbury B.I.A., Royal Canadian Legion Branch 281, Beaver Valley Outreach, the Blue Mountains Historical Society, and others.

Attend the film premiere of our latest REEL History film about Blue Mountain Pottery. Browse the sales and show floor to see the amazing variety and colour of pottery production and chat with the knowledgeable collectors and sellers. Visit the exhibits from local museums and historical societies sharing their expert knowledge and insight. Learn about the origins of the pottery and how one branch of the pottery has become a leading high-tech company in our region.

Admission by donation.
