The Albion Bolton Historical Society’s next meeting is on Monday, November 17th at the Albion Bolton Community Centre, Meeting Room C, 2nd Floor, 150 Queen Street South, Bolton for a 7:30 PM start. Nathan Hiller is presenting ‘The Home Front 1914-1918. Nathan will share what was happening locally and the contributions the community made during the First World War.

Many men answered the call to volunteer during the First World War and went overseas to serve. Back home in Canada there was also a concentrated effort to encourage the general population to do their part. Nathan will present how the men, women and even children of Albion, Bolton and Peel contributed, using local newspapers and other sources from the 1914-1918 war years. Our local communities rose to the challenge and accomplished some amazing achievements. Meanwhile daily life continued on the home front despite their hardships, losses and fears.
