Lanark County Genealogical Society Community Event

May 2 @ 11:00 am - 3:30 pm
$20

The Lanark County Genealogical Society is pleased to invite members and the wider community to a special Community Event on Saturday, May 2, 2026, celebrating local history, heritage, and preservation.

We are delighted to gather at St. George’s Anglican Church Hall in Clayton, as the church marks its 125th anniversary. The day will feature engaging guest speakers, opportunities to learn more about local history, and time to connect with others who share an interest in genealogy and heritage.

The event begins at 11:00 a.m. with the opening of St. George’s Church for a history talk presented by parishioners, followed by an exploration of its 1901 origins. Later, Angela Yach of Ottawa Valley Stonekeepers will present practical guidance on the safe cleaning and preservation of historic stone monuments, concluding with a hands-on demonstration at St. George’s Cemetery.

A cold plate lunch, catered by Barb Drummond, will be served. Tickets are $20 per person and must be purchased in advance by emailing lcgspresident@gmail.com.

Seating is limited—reserve your place early to avoid disappointment. Join us for an informative and enjoyable day celebrating Lanark County’s rich history and the importance of preserving it for future generations.
