Honouring Oxford

This November, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI, the Oxford County Archives is releasing a new book entitled ‘Honouring Oxford: The Cenotaphs and Memorials of the Great War” to commemorate local communities, that chose to honour their fallen sons, fathers, brothers and friends through the creation of lasting memorials and monuments. The book tells the story of the erection of the monuments and cenotaphs following the war and highlights the lives and achievements of some of the fallen individuals listed upon them.

The public is invited to the official launch of the book and to view the new WWI exhibit.

For more information on the County’s memorials and cenotaphs, and how to purchase the book, please visit the Archives webpage: www.OxfordCounty.ca/Archives/HonouringOxford
