Our “Bicentennial Official Opening: Ceremony and Irish Flag Raising” will formally kick off our commemoration week of August 1-10 at 1pm at the Peterborough Armoury National Historic Site of Canada (220 Murray St., Peterborough). At the ceremony, you’ll hear speeches from dignitaries in our local community, from Ireland and the Irish diaspora, along with some traditional Irish music. Following the ceremony, a piper will lead the group across the street to the Peterborough City Hall, where the Irish flag will be proudly raised.
