Jump on this last chance to see Gone Fishin’ and hear from the collector behind it all, Donald Stokes. In this talk, he will be speaking to his years of collecting pieces of Canada’s fishing history. Questions are encouraged and you are invited to bring your own fishing gear to learn some tips and tricks!

Presenter Bio:

My grandfather used to have an old boathouse, in Bolsover Ontario. It seemed like a special place and its memories remain sweet as time moves on. Every nook and cranny held something magical, from the old metal fishing rods, to our cedar strip boat, to even gently peeking into the water hoping to catch a sudden swirl of a muskellunge.

This eventually led to pursuing older fishing items as a collection. At first it began with some common names with no regard to origin. After extensive travel in various parts of the country, the collection become more focused and it has now been thirty years and counting.
