Albion Bolton Historical Society Presentation “Stand by Your Man (more or less): The Wives of Canada’s Prime Ministers”

February 10 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

At the ABHS meeting on Monday February 10 noted historian Ken Weber will discuss a number of truly interesting women who have accompanied their spouses to the peak of Canada’s political landscape and how they approached their role as prime minister’s wife in quite different ways. Several wives were supportive helpmates while some others came to dislike the position intensely and tried to remain hidden. Interestingly despite the incredible pressures put on marriages that are in the public eye, to date there have been no less than five great love matches among Canada’s prime ministral couples.

This is sure to be an entertaining and interesting presentation. Hope to see you there!

This evening will also include the Annual General Meeting. Many of the current executive have decided to put their names forward for 2025 but we need a secretary and a director to have a full slate. Please consider volunteering.

Your 2025 membership is due in February and will remain at $10 per year and guests at $5 per visit.
