Today the OHS is celebrating a special Anniversary!
120 years ago today, an Act of the Ontario Legislature authorized the Ontario Historical Society to incorporate affiliated societies dedicated to preserving and promoting Ontario’s history.
“An Act to Incorporate the Ontario Historical Society, assented to 1 April 1899” has given the OHS the power to assist and support hundreds of groups across the province for 120 years.
We are pleased to announce that on March 30, 2019, the OHS incorporated two new groups! Congratulations to Ontario Barn Preservation, and Stratford and District Historical Society!
The OHS continues to work with people from all backgrounds, interested in preserving and promoting all aspects of Ontario’s history. Without the dedicated volunteers that spearhead these initiatives, there would be no one to stand up and save our local heritage assets. Thank you to all of our affiliated societies and all the volunteers who make this valuable work possible!
