DESCRIPTION:Landscape of the Nations 360 degrees \nSpeaker Michele-Elise Burnett\, President of Kakekalanicks\, an Indigenous Arts and Consultancy Company\, co-\nfounded Landscape of Nations 360 degrees\, a national Indigenous education and tourism initiative. \nThe Landscape of Nations is a public artwork\ninstallation in Queenston Heights Park. Six nations\nand native allies played a pivotal role in the defense\nof Upper Canada. The stories and vision will be\ndiscussed through the design of the site in relation\nto its landscape and central memory feature. \nMichele-Elise Burnett is a proud Metis with\nAlgonquin roots\, Bear Clan and Thunderbird Clan.\nKakekalanicks is dedicated to promoting and\neducating audiences about Indigenous culture.\nShe continues to serve on various committees and\nboards\, including the Indigenous Health conference\,\nBrock University’s Board of Trustees Emeritus\, and\nFort Erie Native Centre. Her contributions to the\nCommunity have been recognized through awards\nsuch as the Culture Arts Award from GNCC\nWomen in Niagara\, the Distinguished Alumni\nAward from Leadership Niagara and the\nInternational Women’s Day Award from the\nGreater Niagara Chamber of Commerce. \nPie Social is the same evening.
