SUMMARY:Italian-Canadian Archives Project Conference 2022 (In-Person and Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:The Italian-Canadian Archives Project’s upcoming national conference and AGM (In-Person and via Hybrid Format) will be held at Pier 21 in Halifax on October 14-15\, 2022. This year’s theme is Treasuring the Past/Ensuring the Future: Italian-Canadian Heritage in the Digital Environment. \nClick here to see the preliminary conference schedule and to register! Please note our Information for Attendees. \nFriday’s events include a tour of Pier 21 in the morning and a community gathering at the Italian Canadian Cultural Association of Nova Scotia (ICCANS) starting at 4:30 pm. Highlights include a presentation by ICAP members from Kelowna at 7:00pm and the film screening of TLN’s documentary Sbarco at Ellis Island at 7:30 pm. \nAt Pier 21 on Saturday three eminent keynote speakers will discuss “why materials need to be archived” from the community\, institutional\, and archival perspectives. In addition\, students will report on “projects in progress” and ICAP members will discuss their community projects from across Canada. \nPlease browse our site and disseminate the news of this important fall event to your community. \nWe look forward to your participation either in person or online.
