SUMMARY:Toronto Bell Cote Heritage Preservation Presents Community Symposium: Climate Change and Emergency Preparedness
DESCRIPTION:Honouring the 68th Anniversary of Hurricane Hazel\, Toronto Bell Cote Heritage Preservation\, a non-profit community service organization\, is organizing an exciting and thought-provoking event. Experts on the environment and climate change\, on-going watershed management\, flood prevention and forecasting activities\, and emergency preparedness will address these topics during a community Symposium on Climate Change and Emergency Preparedness to be held on Sunday\, October 16 from 1 to 3:30 pm. The event will take place at Toronto Bell Cote\, the former rescue center for survivors of Hurricane Hazel\, 691 Scarlett Road\, Etobicoke. \nKey Speakers from:\n➢ Toronto Public Library (Environmentalist in Residence)\n➢ Toronto and Region Conservation Authority\n➢ City of Toronto (Office of Emergency Management) \nNote: A short tour of the building will follow\, including its Geothermal Heating & Cooling system and display of artifacts and other objects tracing this building’s long history.
