DESCRIPTION:The Oshawa Museum invites you to the official launch of our newest publication\, Untold Oshawa: An Expanded History. \nUntold Oshawa begins a more inclusive story. Here\, you will find stories of some of Oshawa’s early settlers from marginalized communities\, a look into the impact of labour unions in Oshawa\, on the experiences of children who emigrated without family\, and early efforts to break down gender barriers. Untold Oshawa also documents important moments for the Chinese community in Oshawa\, in the environmental impact of local industry\, and more. \nMeticulously research and written in an engaging\, accessible style\, Untold Oshawa shines a spotlight on the tapestry of experiences that have shaped the city. \nDate: Tuesday\, November 19\, 2024\nTime: 6pm\nLocation: Oshawa Public Library\, McLaughlin Branch\, lower level auditorium \nThe official launch is free to attend and will feature a presentation by Oshawa Museum staff.
