"The Secrets to Strategic Success: Strategic Planning for Small Organizations"
Summary: "Strategic Planning" can sound daunting, but it doesn't have to be. A sound plan is essential to defining and meeting your organization's goals; attracting funding; and ensuring that your board, members, partners, and community are clear on what your organization does and why you do it.
Join consultant Kim Pittaway, who worked with the Ontario Historical Society on the Society's strategic plan, for insights into how to tackle your planning logically, inclusively and effectively. Kim will be particularly focused on planning for small organizations, recognizing the time constraints and other challenges faced by volunteer boards in carrying out such planning.
Speaker: Kim Pittaway
Kim is a communications consultant who has worked with a wide range of non-profits, educational institutions and small- and medium-sized enterprises in developing strategic communication, content, social media and business plans.
Join OHS Director and Lakehead University Professor Dr. Michel S. Beaulieu at the 5th Annual Military Symposium at the O'Kelley Armoury (317 Park Avenue) in Thunder Bay from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday November 19.
The topic this year will be "Exploring Diversity" with a keynote address from Dr. Tim Cook of the Canadian War Musuem on "100 Years of Canada's Great War".
