DESCRIPTION:To assist our fundraising efforts this year\, Toronto’s First Post Office has signed up for a Value Village FUNDrive and we need your help! If you’re spring cleaning and want to support us\, we are now accepting gently used items on behalf of Value Village Canada. At the end of the FUNDrive\, all donations collected at the Post Office will be brough to a donation centre\, and Value Village Canada will pay the Town of York Historical Society for the donated items. All funds raised will support the Town of York Historical Society and Toronto’s First Post Office\, helping us continue to deliver educational programs\, public events\, and exciting new exhibits. Please visit the QR code for more information on what we will be accepting and share it with your friends and family to help us spread the word. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can all pitch in to clean the areas around the Museum\, the OHS and Lakeside Park. Coffee and treats will be provided. \n“The 34th annual Earth Day Clean Up of Oakville Nature Sites will take place on Saturday\, April 26 beginning at 9 am sharp unless noted at most of the sixty-six nature sites now scheduled for cleaning up\,” remarked Stephen Dankowich\, co-Founder and Executive Director of the Oakville Community Centre for Peace\, Ecology and Human Rights (OCCPEHR). \n“Before noon and in just a few hours time on April 26\, hundreds and hundreds of Oakville citizens and students will together beautify and transform Oakville’s nature sites! Waste will be removed from our beautiful parks\, trails\, ravines\, woodlots\, waterways and lakefront in a concerted community-wide effort to maintain a clean\, green\, litter-free Oakville\,” he exclaimed. \n“You will be joining in with people around the world also doing something positive and important for the natural environment in celebration of Earth Day. DESCRIPTION:The Albion Bolton Historical Society are participating in The Repair Cafe\, organized by EcoCaledon\, to held at the Caledon Senior’s Centre\, 7 Rotarian Way\, Bolton\, Saturday\, April 26\, 10 AM-2 PM. \nThe ABHS will be scanning and digitizing photographs/prints and negatives\, both colour and black & white. The process is limited to letter size photographs or smaller and medium format negatives. A limit of 2-3 scans per participant please. The digitized file can be down loaded onto the participant’s USB or e-mailed to them. We are hoping that local historical images would be shared with the ABHS to add to our photographic database and for preservation purposes.
