SUMMARY:The Fred Eaglesmith Show\, Starring Tif Ginn
DESCRIPTION:The Hockley Historic Community Hall & Church board presents our first\, in what we hope to be many\, concert with the legendary Fred Eaglesmith. \nAs most artists aspire to get higher up or just plain in the music business\, rocker Fred Eaglesmith continues to look for ways to do just the opposite. As part of his local ethos this Juno winner who has appeared on David Lettermen and had his music featured on shows such as True Blood prides himself for visiting as many small halls as possible. \n“This is something I have been doing for years\,” the singer-songwriter says of his shows in dozens of halls across Ontario Canada. “I’d played a few in my life and\, getting tired of the music biz scene\, we worked our way into making it a part of what we do.” \n“A lot of the halls are really nice\, wood buildings on the inside. They’ve got real mojo in those rooms and it just has that feel of the jamborees when artists like Patsy Cline and Elvis would go around to little halls in the late ’50s.” \nAnd similar to other 50s icons Fred and his wife and co-performer Tif Ginn roll up in their bus\, unload their gear and get the venue ready to rock with their ever changing roots to rock show. \n“It’s the old-school community thing that’s helping us get away from the music business and it is helping these places too. They use the events for fundraisers and so they can all get together – it is a great experience for everyone!” \nCash bar featuring a selection of beer from the Hockley Valley Brewery and food will be available for purchase. \nTickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
