In this series of free events\, you will hear from experts sharing insights into Canada’s Cold War history. \nAll lectures are free to attend\, and open to all! Advance registration is required to receive the Zoom link and the recording after the event. \nThursday\, October 15\, at 7:00 p.m. ET  \nCanadian Intelligence in the Early Cold War: Assessing the Soviet Threat to North America  \nAlan Barnes\, analyst in the Canadian intelligence community\, will speak to Canadian foreign intelligence organizations’ Cold War assessments of the Soviet threat to North America. He will also discuss the role of intelligence in decisions on the CF-105 Avro Arrow project. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Ontario Archaeological Society Toronto Chapter Symposium 2026 - "Repairing Bridges: Collaboration\, Community\, Connection"
DESCRIPTION:The OAS is pleased to share information regarding the upcoming one-day 2026 symposium to be held in Toronto this October\, themed “Repairing Bridges: Collaboration\, Community\, Connection”. The conference will also serve as a celebration of the relaunch of the Toronto Chapter\, and we hope to see many of our members in attendance for a day of fascinating talks\, posters\, and networking!  \nThe symposium will take place in Toronto\, Saturday October 24th at St. Lawrence Hall\, with an optional trivia night hosted on Friday October 23rd.  \nAll submissions can be sent to oas.tochapter@gmail.com\, with an extended deadline of Wednesday September 30th. Accepted presentations are needed by Saturday October 17th at 10 AM (*deadline flexible if required). \nSee below for more details on the theme\, the type of research and discussions we are seeking for submission\, and potential round table discussion topics that people can sign up to moderate for\, or submit your own discussion topic for a round table.  \nMore details regarding registration\, accommodations\, conference location\, and more\, are forthcoming\, and we look forward to sharing more and seeing everyone in Toronto in October!
